What Is a Marketplace Product Information Management System?

A standard PIM (Product Information Management) system centralizes product attributes, descriptions, media, and translations in one place. While that is valuable, it only covers your back-office. The Role of DOXAP in Data Orchestration

Before DOXAP, their operations team maintained separate exports for each channel, manually adjusting titles and attributes each time a marketplace updated its requirements. Stock levels were batch-synced overnight, meaning a product could oversell on one channel before the next export ran.

Outbound flow: ERP and PIM to marketplaces

With DOXAP in place, the ERP continuously pushes updated stock and pricing into DOXAP. The PIM feeds enriched product content (descriptions, attributes, media) into DOXAP as a Source. At the DOXAP step, each product record is mapped to the target channel's schema: Amazon FR requires a specific ASIN-linked attribute set; Cdiscount has its own category codes; Worten needs Portuguese translations. DOXAP applies per-channel transformation rules to each record, validates completeness against that channel's requirements, then publishes the data, either directly via a native connector (Shopify, for example) or through Lengow for the marketplace channels it reaches via that integrator. The Data Stream status for each channel, Live, Sync, Late, or Down, is visible in the Cockpit without opening a separate tool.

Return flow: orders back to the back-office

When a customer places an order on a marketplace, it arrives in Lengow, which passes it to DOXAP. DOXAP validates the order data, maps marketplace-specific field names to the internal order schema the ERP expects, determines which warehouse has the relevant stock available, then routes the order there and forwards it to the WMS for fulfillment. The ERP receives a clean, consistently formatted order regardless of which channel it originated from. Operations staff monitor order status through the same Cockpit instead of logging into each marketplace's seller portal.

The practical difference from a pre-DOXAP setup is not primarily speed; it is consistency and visibility. Every channel operates from the same source of truth, transformed correctly, with a live health indicator attached.

Key Differentiators of DOXAP

Configurable per-channel orchestration, not shared mappings

Generic iPaaS tools and feed managers can connect systems, but when channel requirements diverge, shared or duplicated mappings become harder to maintain.
